We had the survey on the hard Friday.
Nothing major was found :-D
Next up, the Sea Trial. :captain:
Looking for the end of March.
Although I was corrected. It is now called a Water Trial.
Something about a Sea Trial in a fresh water river. Things went bad afterwards and that brought about a law suit.....Always something....

During the survey the surveyor was looking thru the engine area and we noticed, on the port side aft of the engines there was a seacock that was way out of reach, the hose was heading forward towards the genny . Is there access to that area? The Trannys are in there also. How do you get to them?
We could see it through the access doors on the steps coming from the Master stateroom. It almost looks like the stairs may pull out although it's only my 3rd time on the boat and didn't get a chance to check it out.

Not sure what seacock you are referring two, but the port side should be fairly accessible. You need to climb in the hole.
The starboard side is the difficult area to access.
Yes, the stairs do lift out. I believe four screws if you look closely.

Tomschauer, thats good news if the steps come out because there is no way I'm fitting thru the hatch on the stairs. it's a foot wide if that. The surveyor was baffled how far out of reach the seacock was. It was Port side on the 41 CMY.

It's really to bad that those who design boats are not necessarily the ones who work on or in them. It can be challenging sometimes.

Stairs definitely lift out, no screws. In fact you almost need to lift them out if you want do any serious work on the engines.

I don't remember any screws. I do seem to recall that they need to lift straight up.

Thats real good news with the steps. I asked the wife and she replied :censored: So I took that as a no. haha There was a seacock that was really loose, could reach it but couldn't see it and that other seacock that couldn't be reached. Also the mechanic would need to get to the trans. Thanks for all the info.
