Refinishing teak

Hey guys, I am refinishing a lot of teak on my boat mostly upper helm stuff for now, it had something on there that made it very orange and needed to be redone. I’m thinking it was sikkens that was applied years ago. I have sanded it all down and ready to apply oil or sealer to it. Any recommendations on brand? I’m looking for natural finish.

I tried most of the products out there and have had the best results with Watco teak oil. It's available at Walmart,Home Depot,etc. It outlasted anything else I've used.

I like the Cetol product. It doesn't need to be sanded prior to re-coating and leaves a natural appearance. Every few years, clean and re-coat, pretty easy.

+1 on the Watco..If you want the teak to look like teak, the oil is the way to go, but is a steady job....the cetol now is better than it was with a few finish choices that are not half bad. But i do agree , freshly sanded teak looks great.

Now that said, if you want the furniture look, 10 coats of spar varnish...

I've always used DEKS OLJE (sp?) and really like the way it applies and the way it looks. You can get it either in satin or glossy finish.

I've never tried it on a boat, mine doesn't have any teak, but I have a bunch of teak patio furniture. I used to use snappy new teak to clean it and then teal oil. A friend told me to try linseed oil. I takes a few days to soak in, but lasts all season in a totally exposed area. I've been using it for the last 8 years or so. Also, about 25% of the price of teak oil.
