I'll be buffing the sides of the boat tomorrow.
Wife has the day off today, she's getting it ready for me to buff.
While I buff, she's going to work on the bottom
Goes in in 2-3 weeks.
Thanks
Fred

The calendar might say it's 3 weeks to boating, but the weather here in NY says its more like 6 weeks!

Yup, someone was waxing their boat today, standing on the snow drifts.......the only one in the yard with no cover on.....
Guess what we have in a few more days????

Is there any downside to doing this work when to gelcoat is cold???

Cheers

Im thinking the chemical bonding won't happen properly when hull is below 10C ( 50F) especially if the cleaner function is chemical instead of mechanical....I don't know just a guess.... :beergood:

Good morning intrepid northern boaters....well as the sign says 2 weeks to golf/boating now......it is -4C out ( 25F )....the bay is still frozen but there are some encouraging spots and the sun is out. Later we will go round to see how the investment faired with the big wind last night ( fingers crossed ) :-D
One thing, this spring melt has been very slow ( still 3ft between the boats ) and I believe has relieved a lot of the usual flooding which is a very good thing for many people.....

mjk1040 wrote:Qr Bbpost Any of our northern friends or US friends on Lake Ontario? Do you think they will get the water level right this season? Plan 2014 sure is raising hell on the southern & eastern shores of the lake, not to mention the St. Lawrence Seaway and A-Bay area's with high water levels!

Heard something that they actually like the lake level up for shipping and are thinking of raising it another 2 feet..

Not really.....A.F. day

Here today 62 degrees F. Calling for an inch or two of snow tomorrow morning and highs just barely above 50 and lows just above freezing next weekend.
I am scheduled to launch on the 18th but you can't properly compound and wax below 55-60 degrees.
