Now here's a place I would consider running synthetic gear oil. Something like Lucas that sticks to everything in the gear case. IMO

Volvo has their own proprietary bottle for a small price.
It's just a gearbox, I just use SAE 30W oil...

EP-90 for QL applications if I recall correctly. As Peter noted above, pretty sure that's what it calls for. Look after it, you'll find it very difficult to get a replacement leg/gear if it ever fails.

Just drained and changed my fore and aft thrusters with AMSOIL 75-90. Continues to work even if contaminated with 10% seawater.
