Adding Extra Speakers and Subs

Go to Best Buy get a nice wireless Bose blue tooth speaker you will be surprise the sound it has. If you don't like it return it. The enclosure of your aft deck and bridge area makes the sound great.

If it has no highs and has no lows it must be BOSE!

As in engines, you can never have enough power. Doesn't need to be loud, even though more power also allows more volume.
All that extra power helps attack the highs and lows, makes it so much more real.
Don't skimp on speakers either.
Personally am a fan of Klipsch RP bookshelf for interior if you have room for them.
For exterior/bridge, I've been using the old MB Quart NKA series. Whenever a NOS pair hit ebay I buy em. They don't make them anymore. Made in Germany.
In both cases,the sound does not dribble out, it's punched out. Live recordings are especially realistic.
Two high end subs will really bring things alive.

I put a kicker system in bridge / aft deck the other year.
a KMC10 head unit, 4 of the 43km series speakers (get the good ones, they sell one or two cheaper versions) a 10" sub (again get the top model) and a kxm 800.5 amp.
It is very loud if you want it and always very clear. Sounds great even at cruising speeds.
But it will drop a battery pretty quick if turned up and not charging.

I use Kicker,Polk audio speakers and precision power amps. Our tv on the back deck is wired for sorround sound and is awesome for concert videos! I use a Kenwood head unit in the cabin and a precision power equalizer to turn off speakers in parts of the boat and fine tune the sound. I love my setup sounds fantastic.

One of the best things I've done for audio on the boat is wire the aft cabin TV into the radio speakers in the aft cabin. I put a separate amp in to drive them. Makes for great "movie nights" in bed!

Guys , forgive my ignorance, after following along ,interesting stuff for me......with all the amps and such, can you use these systems when not connected to shore or have the gen going.....

Yes, they are 12v battery powered. However, depending on the system and how hard you drive it can draw a battery down fairly quickly. If I have my volume up near 3/4 it is a continuous 40amp draw. At 1/4 about 5 amps. The head unit also as a setting to shut if off if the voltage drops below the level you set to prevent total battery drain.

Yes all of my equipment is 12 volt. One thing I did do though is make my system run off either house batteries when we are anchored or docked, or switch them to engine batteries while running the boat.

I have always wired my boats stereos this way, so when you get to your destination after a 4 or more hour run, your house batteries aren’t dead when you drop anchor. With open exhaust on our 3607 we run our stereo loud while cruising!
