Noticed at local marina today....a few larger boats floating at the slips ,in the last few days......only open water is in the marina....well the sun is shining and the ice breaker is coming in this weekend, that will get er going.....
....
....
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: ? weeks to boating , Ha
Woke up to snow covered ground and it snowed on and off all day today. (04/19/18)
Marina hasn't launched not one boat, Floating docks and break wall still plugging up the marina. On the brighter side looks like 60's next week here, so will work on uncovering her and putting the canvas up. Then start washing and buffing the haul. Then beg to get launched and floated to the slip!

Re: ? weeks to boating , Ha
Today it is almost 60F in the sun.....ice breaker was in yesterday, hard to see what was done.....snow drifts are melting fast and some folk are even polishing hulls and removing covers, much more encouraging..
.....going to complete some work in boat tomorrow ( new windshield screw covers ).....bay still frozen though..

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Starting to look good here. I am planning to uncover and prep this week if the weather forecast holds up. Then if all goes well into the water next week. Fingers are crossed that mother nature has finally caught up to the calendar.

Re: ? weeks to boating , Ha
Got a LOT done yesterday!! Took the shrink off, washed the deck, scrubbed the bottom with acetone and scotchbrite, washed the hull, charged the batteries and took the raw water pumps off to take home and do a major rebuild. 5 years reusing the shrink (but got a hole this year!) and 6 years since I put any new paint on the bottom. Another day to wheel out the hull and reinstall the raw water pumps and I'm good to go back in!! Now just have to find that other day somewhere!

I actually never heard of anyone reusing shrink wrap. Obviously its can be done.
