Oil filter
Can someone provide the number for an oil filter for a 355 with 454s? It currently has OE and because they are remote I can't just specify the year and make at the parts store.

Re: Oil filter
If you could get the number from the filter that is already there ,the parts guys should be able to cross reference that to whatever filter make you choose........you can do it online as well so long as you have the original number.....

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Crusader, Mercruiser, Volvo?
If they're Mercs, 35-866340K01 or 35-866340Q03 (Quicksilver brand)

Re: Oil filter
FYI, if the 51515 is a longer filter than the Mercs I mentioned above, unless you know you already have a long filter you should check the clearance you have below the housing if it mounts right side up. Depends on your application and where it's mounted but some applications don't have the room for the longer filter.

Totally agree....that is why I suggested getting the number from the filter on there as there is no way of us knowing what application there is, ....I know with mine ( right side up ) there is limited room ( longer is not a kind fit ) as Viper suggests.
Imo , I would not worry too much about the filter size anyway , they aren't on long enough ( see what I did there ) and not in any sort of dusty/dirty environment...the short ones will be just fine IMO.....

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: Oil filter
The only problem with a previous comment is, I can't reference the part number that's on the current filter because it is not an automotive part number, so the guy at the auto parts counter can't cross reference. It was purchased from a Carver dealer. I just would prefer a Wix filter
