Spot free windows

Post by Helmsman »

Ok. Anyone know how to remove water spots on the windows of a boat? Don’t want to damage them but would like to get them spot free.

+ 1 on that...are you talking about the tinted windows or the opening oval shaped ports, Ours are the same, post something if you find an answer.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Those water spots have driven my OCD brain crazy for 5 years. I have tried everything under the sun....everything. The last method I tried was Marine31 polish, polishing pad and my buffer. Lots of elbow grease and I got a 50% improvement. I’m afraid to try any rougher compounds besides polish but that’s where I’m at now. If anyone has a better solution I’d love to hear it! Thank

There are products on the market specifically designed to remove water spots. Have you tried any of those?

Haven’t tried anything yet! But White Vinegar was recommended on a couple of sites. I also saw that oxalic acid works. Have to keep water running on it though. Will start with vinegar and move to a water/oxalic acid solution.

My wife’s favorite cleaner. If she has some I will try tomorrow after the rest of my “chores”

Have a look at the ingredients, I believe it might contain the oxalic you were talking about...... :beergood:
