Water tank issue....

Post by SharonAnne »

I have a 1989 Carver Montego 2557. Just got her in the water and have an issue with my water freshwater. I filled the water tank but no water is coming out of faucets. The toilet is filling and flush-able. I can hear the water pump making noise. Where is the water going? Must be a leak somewhere? Any suggestions?

Have you got a hot water tank, if so may it may be just be filling that, check the fittings at the water tank, maybe they never got reconnected...... make sure you have a hot water valve open somewhere to help remove the air from the tank......clean all the faucet screens at the taps......its a start, go from there....
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Who winterized the system? Did they disconnect something? Was the heater drain valve left open? Look around for water accumulating in the bilge. If all of the previous is no then the pump may be on its way out not being able to self prime and yes all water pumps we use in our boats are self priming.

There is water coming into the bilge. There is no hot water heater. Where the heck is my water tank? I can't find where the water hose connects.

on the 2757 the water tank is under the bed in the aft cabin. Check there.

Are you sure there is no water heater? Not trying to give you a hard time, but if you can't find your water tank, you are really going to have trouble finding a water heater as it is much smaller.

OK, the toilet (head) is flushing. Do you have fresh water or raw water flush? I'm guessing a Carver of that vintage probably has raw water flushing unless a previous owner switched it over.

Thanks all. I have someone coming to look at it next week. Meanwhile, I'll look at hose and tank.
