Anyone tint their windows? What % VLT?

Post by Seif911 »

Morn All,
Part way into my window project and decided to tint the windows. We figured out to stay away from the metallic tint as it causes electrical problems. Now we are trying to decide what % VLT. We are thinking maybe a 20%. Has anyone else done this? Any tips?
Thanks,
Steve

I had this done to my salon windows a couple of years ago. made quite a difference during our hot summers. Best advice I would give is to hire it done by a knowledgeable pro.

That is good advice. We just went through 3 rolls and weren't happy with the results. We went and bought a higher quality tint and we'll see how that goes tomorrow...besides the fact that I broke 1 of the windows...uggg!
Thanks,
Steve

Myself, I think I am going with 8%. I have it on my car and love it. I personally like it darker inside to keep it cool.

We thought about the 5% but we have never really seen it from the inside out and I was a little worried. We have never really tinted before. We'll try again today with 1 window.
Thanks,
Steve

My Car is 8% and its see through from the inside, but hardly see through from outside. I love it. It is illegal on the street but I have Dr. Excuse. :-)

Nice! Ya, as I am getting older, I have a spot in my eye that bugs the heck out of me. When I wear shades, the dot seems to blend with the shade and my eye seems normal. I, of course, have the glasses that shade with light automatically. It's nice.

I could really put any tint shade on the Mariner since there is no driving in the cabin. I'm still a little hesitant to go that dark, though I am very tempted.
Thanks,
Steve
