Engine room lights on my 356
OK, I'm not seeing any engine room lights on my 356. Owners manual says I have them and there are 2 switches in the galley I assume would turn them on and off. Where are they hidden?

Even if you do find them they are rather pathetic or at least they were on mine. light is so dim might as well light a match. I installed LED light strips @ 10 watts @ 12v each https://www.ebay.com/itm/1x-High-Power- ... m570.l1313 added 8 of them to the under side of the aluminum floor frame. Now I need sunglasses to work down there. Mega improvement to say the least. Not the best of pictures but this will give you an idea. This picture was taken in bright daylight.

looks good. I hope to find mine and I'm guessing the bulbs have just burned out. If so, I will replace them with LED's.
Nice, bright lights would be good, but I don't plan on spending much time down there. I can only fit between the engines and the small space in front of the port engine. I think I need to lose 20-30 lbs to squeeze into the space forward of the starboard engine.

I looked for three days for ours.
I finally found it above the water pump, battery charger which is also under the stairs as you come down into the cabin.

Re: Engine room lights on my 356
I still can't find any lights and the other day I had a service guy down in my engine room working on my genset and he couldn't find them either. There's a switch in my galley that I'm 99% sure is for them, but nothing turns on...even the indicator light doesn't work.

Underneath the companionway steps above the batteries. You really have to get your head deep into the bilge and look up.

Re: Engine room lights on my 356
midnight sun, did you glue them, double sided tape? I thought about doing that also, but was afraid sticking it there and did not want to screw it in, it would loose it sticky and fall on belts or something while running. Also how many of those did you put on the same line? I assume you replaced the existing light, which is a crap, with these, meaning, you just re-wired it to the new strip light? Thanks
