Spare Parts while on a LONG passage

Good Morning!

I am getting ready to leave from Cincinnati, OH to the Florida Keys on my 1998 Carver 405. She is powered by two Crusader 454 XL's and a Kohler 8e generator.

I think I have all of the oil change requirements met

All of my research tells me that I should also bring spare impellers and bilge pumps. The impellers should not be too hard to find for the engines and generator, but aren't there several different bilge pumps on board?

What spare parts does the group recommend outside of those mentioned above?

Belts, a complete change of spare fuel filters, wooden plugs to plug smaller holes, all the tools to do the jobs you have parts for plus other tools for the unforseen.
Wire ties, duct tape.
Spare oils.
Handheld vhf with dsc.
Make sure your safety gear is current and highly available.
Beer, wine, Saphire gin and olives, Lagavulin scotch, Frida Kahlo tequila, Havana Cohiba Paramides Extras, plenty of clean short pants and Hawaiian shirts, and at least one good woman.

The 2 most important things I can think of would be a Visa with a high limit and a Towboat US membership for unlimited towing! That's a long trip for an older boat and unless you are really lucky, things are going to break.

Spare gps and charts. In addition to above Figure out where fuel and haul out facilities would be along your route. Maybe one set of spark plugs. Extra anchor and rode. Though not a necessity but while your buying stuff I'd probably go ahead and buy a extra pump and float switch that could be used in either one of your sump boxes. Realize if you have the oberg 4" round fuel filter that you can clean the screen and reuse and note that is the first place to check if you suspect you have a fuel problem

I tend to overdo things a bit, but I try to be prepared. In my spares I have, starter, alternator, sea water pump, circulating pump, fuel pump, ignition and fuel pump relays, ignition coil, belts, impellers, fuel and oil filters, oil, trans fluid and coolant. I carry a spare bilge pump and float switch, domestic water pump, toilet repair kit, steering helm pump seal kit and fluid, misc hose clamps and electrical terminals. I also have spare props, handheld GPS and VHF. You find along the way that many places you stop have no mechanics or parts so you need to be ready for a few repairs you can do yourself.

Think of all the things that would keep you in port (and hence ruin your schedule) if they went bad.

A starter would be one thing. (and if the engines are the same you just need one) You can still cruise with a bad alternator, if you have a provision to run off the other one or some other way to charge the batteries (genset), but a bad starter means you're not starting one engine until you locate a replacement. Props are the same way. Hit a log enroute and you'll be stuck in a port while the boat gets hauled and the prop gets sent off to a shop to recondition.

Honest question...where do you stow all of this stuff?

One thing that I have on PV that I don't on our Carver is a hand operated diaphragm pump, hard mounted to a bulk head.

I've been thinking of installing one on the Carver as well.

I did install a high water alarm on the Carver as well.
