Fuel Consumption
Howdy. Am looking at purchasing a 25' Santa Cruz w/ 5.7L 260 hp Volvo Penta and am wondering what fuel consumption might be at cruise.

Re: Fuel Consumption
Optimal cruise rpm (on plane) on a 5.7 is around the 3500 rpm mark. With that in mind take a look here to get a good idea of what you will consume. http://www.boat-fuel-economy.com/volvo- ... us-gallons

Re: Fuel Consumption
Thanks. Boat has been updated with a duoprop outdrive. I wonder how that will affect consumption.

I had the same engine in my 26ft Monterey and I say had because it had a rod sticking out the oil pan when I bought it, got it real cheap. But, from everything I have read about Duoprop's it will improve fuel consumption. I want to do the same thing when the new engine I built is installed.

Re: Fuel Consumption
You should notice some improvement with the Duoprop conversion.
