Re: New 88 Mariner
HI Guys, Thought I replied but its not here,
I traced it back and the wires are good, As I said I tested the switch and all good, I do have the Fuses at that Battery switch, THEY LOOKED GOOD but Im going to replace them and see if that does the trick next time there..
I did bring a extra battery I had and hooked new bilge pumps and got all the water out, Not to bad and I left the AFT one connected on float.
SOOO, I posted in Engine forum, I can get a mercruiser 5.o local and cheap , can I swap ??

Re: New 88 Mariner
Looks familiar, had one just like it, same interior layout, just an older model than yours...that was a great boat, nice hull, handled great, super bridge, one big 28 in my opinion.......
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: New 88 Mariner
Boat looks to be in good shape. Just needs a little mechanical TLC. Good Luck with her!

Which side engine do you need ?, one of them could be a reverse rotation engine .
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: New 88 Mariner
Thinking back to 2015 when I was looking for a boat one of the boats I did look at was a Mariner. I forget the exact year but it was an 80's model. It had the same layout as seen in the photographs you posted. It was a really nice looking boat. I came very close to making an offer. One thing was it had no canvas so the upper helm was open to the elements. That was a turnoff for me. The boat was on the hard but there was close to a foot of water in the bilge, Probably from rain collecting down there I think. That was a turnoff too. They were only asking $8000. That was a plus as I had enough cash saved up at the time to make a cash purchase.
It had Mercruiser engines. It looked really nice but the open to the elements and that water in the bilge made me walk away. I ended up with my 3007. It's an older boat but so far my experience with this boat has been OK.
