Another fine example of " I'm with government, and we're here to help you." Yeah, right. Thanks for less than nothing. Hope it comes out OK for the average boat buyer/seller. The U.S. enacted a "luxury tax" in the late 80's. Almost killed the boat manufacturer's. It actually did kill Cruiser's Yachts, and Carver was shut down to almost nothing in the early 90's. The picture was bleak to say the least.

One thing about that time...it has been the only time I sold a boat after years of owning it for more than I paid....
