I am shopping for parts for the Crusader engines on my boat. It occurred to me that folks on the board might help me with their experience with companies. Who do you use to buy parts for Crusaders. As referenced in my previous post about overheating, I want to order a transmission cooler and a heat exchanger. I saw a heat exchanger for $725 on one site that said it wasn’t OEM and then another for $1200 that didn’t say that. Does anyone know if there is a quality difference? I plan to call both companies to find out.
I also would like to order new 1” and 1 1/2” hoses. A few of them appear to be preformed so I want to stick with that where necessary. I am in the US.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

My favorite is ebay, especially if I;m in no rush. I set up a search and then ebay sends me new matches daily.
I only buy new. In USA.

Re: Best place for Crusader engine parts
Thanks! I found one company online who will sell direct who also has others who market their heat exchangers. The company’s name is Lenco out of Long Island. Their price is $725 direct sale while SeaKamp HE’s run about $1100. Anybody familiar with the brand?

Not sure what model of exchanger you have but try a google search and shop from the choices brought up. https://www.mrcool.us/coolers/crusader/ ... ne_size=78

Thanks! I just hung up from them. Went ahead and bought two heat exchangers. Also, bought a transmission cooler. I replaced the other one two years ago when it failed.
The person at Mr. Cool told me that prices for these coolers are marked up quite a bit in the industry. He said that the industry has specs that they have to follow when they build them. He also said that they are one of the largest distributors for SeaKamp. He said that he doesnt remember the last time one of theirs failed "out of the gate". It was an interesting discussion and he gave me a nice discount to buy two on top of the lowest price I found. The reviews for this company are really good. They ranked 9.3 (approximate) out of 10. The very few negative reviews were not about the quality of the parts except for one. It appeared based upon the nature of the complaint that it was due to electrolysis that the gentlemen perhaps didnt understand.
Thanks for the guidance. Now off to find the hoses for it.
