The engineers that design these things should also be required to work on them. I think you would see better access to certain components would result from such a practice.

Over the weekend, I took a real good look at what was going on and discovered limited access to the thru hulls. I figured that I would simply switch the two output hoses with each other. Following Waybomb's advice I enlisted the help of my thin son-in-law. However he is quite tall and had a real challenge getting back there. When loosening the hose clamps, we realized that the hose connections to the thru hull were different sizes. (image attached) I figured that since they looked the same on the outside of the boat this internal change can still happen (bilge pump is the larger diameter side), and not affect function.
In speaking with Carver, although they look the same outside, they in fact are different. Under no circumstances would I want o restrict bilge pump flow. Carver suggested that I remove each thru hull and switch with the other. (Again this to accommodate the clamshell installed on the hull). That 'may' be the answer, but I don't see that happening whilst in the water.
What do you guys think?

There are loops in both those lines as there should be.....that should prevent any water coming back in you would think......... Now the holes in the hull would be different sizes as well, I would guess.
If it were me, I would, move the boat around at the dock, jamb the dinghy between the dock and the boat,climb in and work from there, remove the clam and put it in the other spot, or a totally new second one, just leave the other.......just fill the small holes with epoxy, you could put white gel over the small holes later......again, just my opinion....good luck man....
