Underwater lights opinions

I purchased 4 Lumishore SMX53s with the Lumi-Hub. They are white and blue only. The hub required an 8 gauge wire for the roughly 20 foot run. They draw a lot. They are not cheap and once you hold them you’ll know why. Excellent quality! I have a 356 and I’ll say I could have gone with a lower lumen. They are very bright, almost to bright. I wouldn’t change the number I purchased because the light spread is perfect just bright.

WOW Sadey! That is bright, but really cool! I did install some smaller lights on my trim tabs. They look like they are going to accomplish my goal of just a glow off the stern for 10 to 15 feet, but have not had them in water yet. That will be next week. Spent less than 300 on all parts, including all heat shrink electrical connections. Using a simple fused on/off toggle switch located in cockpit. If I can figure out how to post pics, I will. er

Underwater lights are installed. Lit them up last night to see results. They worked exactly how I had hoped. Nice glow off the swim platform for about 15 feet back. Not as bright as Sadey's pics above, but what I was hoping to achieve. Also, draw from battery is next to nothing! Now, I just need to test longevity. So far, so good....very good. er

I put 2 lumitec on 355 but can't reach out the wiring. How you guys figured that out? Open plugs on swim platform?

Recently I bought Lumitec SeaBlaze3, very satisfied with them. There are two things that I really like about this light is that it is dimmable and it is really easy to install.

Those Lumitec lights a great! And bright. I wanted light, but something that would not draw a lot of power and still give me a nice glow off stern. My lights are still working great, 3rd season. All in cost of install 2 lights was less than purchase price of one Lumitec fixture. I have left them on ( accidently ) for a week a couple of times. Power draw is so minimal that my battery was still 12.4 when I found my mistake. Battery charger was not running during the week left on. Lumitec will surely out last these Xenon's, but I am happy. If they burn out, I can just swap out for $80. 103 days to wait. er

Its amazing what some of these underwater lights cost. There's definitely less expense options to basically get the same effect. These have been on my boat almost 3 yrs. http://www.coastalnightlights.com/
