Spare Fuses

Post by samcrouse »

I am trying to locate a list of spare fuses for my boat. It is a 99 Carver 504. Could not find in the manual anywhere that I could see. Anyone know a way to find how many, size, location, etc.?

If its anything like my 405 i would think all circuits and everything installed from carver oem is circuit breaker ed and can be reset and not fused. Of course previous owners may have added electronics that are fused. Everything in the electrical panel ac and dc that looks like and acts like a switch is the circuit breskers I am speaking of.

As G36 states, you should not have any factory fuses. They should be circuit breakers for a 1999. You may however, have inline fuses installed for after market items such as VHF, GPS stereo etc. Windless may have a control fuse. These would not be anywhere in your boat manual, but may be in the individual equipment manuals if you have them.

There are always a few hiding somewhere mostly from electronics and the like however as mentioned almost everything is on breakers. That being said I have a bunch of various blade and tube fuses in my tool box for those wtf moments.

Amazon has a boat load of kits at a price that rivals a few fuses. This is a good start to covering most bases. https://www.amazon.com/MulWark-Assorted-Automotive-Replacement-Assortment/dp/B07FDZ4TZV/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1W3XQH4VSARMS&keywords=fuse%2Bassortment%2Bautomotive&qid=1557475521&s=gateway&sprefix=fuse%2Bassortm%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-1-spons&th=1

I agree with the above......you may have to go hunting for inline fuses hidden behind panels etc, thing is you never can tell what someone before you has done.....oh, and don't forget to get a spare fuse for your multimeter .... :-D
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
