We just purchased this boat last week. Motored it home to Portland, OR from Puget Sound out the Strait of Juan de Fuca, down the WA coast and over the Columbia River Bar. A great adventure and extremely helpful to me for working knowledge of the boat. We put approximately 25hrs on the engines during the trip home.

The only other boat we have ever owned was a 19' bowrider /ski boat, so this 32' Carver is a new experience for us!

Look forward to sharing thoughts/tips with fellow Carver owners.

Best regards,
Andy

Welcome to the forum. How much fuel did you use coming down the coast?

AaHubb-

I'm not certain exact gallons consumed, but somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 gallons. I've been purposely avoiding adding up my fuel receipts! :)

We ran at 3100 rpm for 4-5 hr. blocks of time; 8-10hrs per day with overnight stops at three different marinas (Sequim Bay, La Push, Westport). Those were not our intended stopover points prior to commencing the trip, but that's the way it worked out due to weather in the Strait and unforseen clogged fuel filter 10miles north of Westport (starboard engine).

Cost to ferry via water was actually less than shipping, primarily due to the fact that ground shipping would have required removal (and subsequent reinstall) of radar arch and hard top. I wanted to minimize potential damage to the boat, and really wanted the experience of operating the boat extensively before taking my family out for the first time.
