Re: Question regarding cruising rpm's
We have the mx 6.2 mercs.....run mostly at hull speed, but on step around 3200 trimmed.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: Question regarding cruising rpm's
32 to 34 is not working the engines hard at all. I have found that running at 3000 is that sweet spot on my boat. 17GPH at 18 to 19MPH. At 3400 I burn 24GPH, at 23MPH.

Re: Question regarding cruising rpm's
For those with 8.1s this might help. So far on our trip from Racine Wisconsin to Sister Bay in Door County Wisconsin the numbers are pretty close. For us 3200rpms-20 SOG- 31 GPH. That’s with all bags full of gas and half a tank of water. Oh yea and a @#$& ton of booze and food. At that load my WOT is 4200rpms.

I found this on Boat Test regarding 36 Mariner with 6.0 Crusaders. Sorry about the sizing.

Re: Question regarding cruising rpm's
Sadey, planning a day trip to Fish Creek today. Just FYI. Also, will be driving through Sister Bay on Thursday, on way to Ellison Bay to visit friends and family. What slip # are you? If schedule permits, will stop by and say quick hello. Finally, I will be at the boat store tomorrow. Is there anything you need, wished you brought up? Are you thinking about cruising to Menominee at all during your stay?

I have a 2000 356 Carver with 8.1 Horizons. Would like input on recommended cruising speed. Thank you for your time.

Well .....based on yesterday that chart is pretty much dead on with what I saw.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
