Why do boat ignitions have loud buzzers? If it's to warn me I'm about to start the engines, I know that. Can the buzzer be disconnected? If yes is it a PITA or relatively straightforward?
I have a generator issue as well. Fired up the genny and went to the control panel. Flipped the ship breaker on the house side (appliances, receptacles, etc.) and no power on the meter. Flipped the breaker on the air conditioning side and full power on the meter.
Comments welcome.

Re: buzzers and generator questions
The buzzers also will sound when the ignition is on and you have either high engine temperature, low oil pressure or high transmission temp. So, not a good idea to disconnect them.

Re: buzzers and generator questions
On the generator issue, it may well be the auto transfer relays that are in a box behind the panel. Another boater just went through this and had to replace one of the relays. There are a couple threads on here with pictures and part numbers.

Re: buzzers and generator questions
Generally a warning buzzer on start up will sound to test the buzzer function or alert you to a fault with certain beeps.....check your engine manual for warning alerts on start up as I am not sure how the diesel set ups are...
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
