Dining table/bed

Post by Longlake »

I recently bought a three ten santego 1998. I'm not sure how the table drops to form a bed if it does. The table legs are not adjustable and their aren't shorter ones. Any help would be great

Welcome aboard Longlake! I don’t know about the 98 Santego, but on the 88 3067 I had and on my current 89 3867 Santego, You removed the table legs from both the table and the floor. You then set the table onto a lip that ran around the edge of the couch and it was held into place by a couple of slide pin locks.

I don't have the slide-pin locks, but mine works basically the same as ColRon describes.

If there are two posts holding the table, then wiggle the table and lift up. Then take the two posts out and set the table top down on the lip.

It doesn't seem to have any support for the outside edge. It's an L shape design so the outside edge is about 3 plus feet with nothing

Mine is more of a combination of a “C” and “L” design. Your may required shorter legs to convert to a bed. I have seen that in RV’s. Is the table removable? You may want to contact Carver and ask them. Be sure to have your HIN when you call. If you do needs to use shorter legs they should be able to tell you what size and who made them.

Yes you can remove it so I assume it fits because it is the exact shape of the seat but definitely needs support. Without the u shape of most dinettes like other boats.

Can you not just lower the center support then rest the table on the ledge on the edge of the seats .....that is the way the newer ones are.....you just leave the center support in there, there is nothing on the out side edge.

Maybe previous owners have reconfigured the set up ??
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Thats what I'm wondering. We thought maybe it was supposed to have 12 inch or so legs. I was hoping someone with a similar boat knew. I may have to call carver to find out

I believe the legs are supposed to be adjustable so the table height can be raised or lowered to suit the owners needs.......then you just drop it down and put the filler cushion on it. That is just how ours is except it only has the center support not two.

Perhaps there are shorter legs on board somewhere.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
