It had to ship somehow. If you have to really tear it down, it sounds like it would be cheaper and a lot more fun to motor it home.
Good luck!

Re: Carver Santego 3867
I’ve seen photos on one on a truck before, so it can be done. With the 14 ft beam you’re already over width so permits are already required. My guess is you will be required to get a permit for over height too and route the trip accordingly.

If it were mine I think I would want to sail her home myself. It would be a great way to get the feel of the new to you boat.

Absolutely I would love to run her back. Unfortunately taking more than 3-4 days off this time of the year, until the middle of November, is almost impossible. I’m a commercial & residential property manager in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Well enough of my blubbering. I was just throwing it out there to see if anyone else had their’s hauled in the past and hopefully could give me a few pointers. Thanks guys, and if you think of anything feel free to drop a few words here or email me at paddwheel@comcast.net
Thanks, Greg

What does your shipping guy say ? These guys are usually fairly knowing about what needs to be removed to get the height down on certain boats.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Been waiting quite a while for hauler to get me a good measurement. I guess he’s busy!

If the permitting process there is anything like it is here, you'll be lucky to get them by November
Especially if overhead lines need to be relocated.
Good luck and let us know how it goes!
