Sleep area upgrade tips?

Post by Marty »

General question....On our 326 Aft we have two beds in the aft (one twin and one single) that the kids and friends mostly use. That leaves the Vberth and pull out couch for the boss and I. Pull out couch is moderately comfortable as is and the vberth doubles as a dining table so the fill in cushions slip and slide all over the place and are very thin as is.

Anyone have experience with improving either of these sleep areas by adding padding/mattress of some sort?

Looking for some suggestions if possible.

Signed my sore back.....

Cheers all!

You can buy multiple types and thicknesses of bed padding at Wally World. Obviously the thicker, more expensive ones will give better comfort. Even 2" will make a big difference. Just cut to size. I've done it on several boats.

Then I would take a trip to Walmart to check out what they have.
As with everything boating wise, it's a compromise...thicker for comfort or thinner for convenience. You will even feel a difference with 1", but 2" would be better. See how small both are rolled up.

The mattress in the aft cabin of my 3007 was so hard it was like sleeping on a brick. I went to Walmart and purchased a 1 1/2" foam topper. World of difference. I sleep great now.
