Reminds me of the Vasa Swedish war ship which sank on launch. Almost like someone forgot the ballast weight. In those days they executed the responsible. :-O Sad to say the least.

This event does date back to 2014.

Was there any follow-up information on why it rolled over? Looks like there are similar boats out at sea in the video, was this one different?

Really makes you wonder how stable it would have been, if it had launched OK. Wonder if there was a lot of heavy equipment (that would have had to been mounted somewhere low in the hull) that wasn't aboard for the launch. Can't imagine it would just be empty tanks, as they would likely be nearly empty off and on during cruising too.

Midnightsun. Funny you mentioned the Vasa. We were in StockHolm about a month ago and went to the Vasa museum. Standing at the stern and looking at how huge and narrow she was it's amazing anyone could imagine her floating no matter how much ballast. She sure was a beautiful ship . This ship here sure is a sad thing to see also.

I was born in Stockholm hence Midnight Sun. ;-) Actually have a 48" Vasa replica in my home. Beautiful site to say the least. Have visited the real thing a few times now, a must see if you happen to be in Stockholm.
