Welcome to the group. A plethora of knowledgeable resources here. Carver boats are very comfortable to live aboard, or "livin' the dream". Her's to a lot of great adventures and memories! :drunk: 8-) er

I've never seen one with stern exhausts, in fact, I don't recall seeing any aft cabin motor yachts that didn't have side exhausts.
I have an older aft cabin, and the exhaust exits at the stern. No mufflers, just long pipes to get back there. Wish I had a couple mufflers though, or even underwater exhaust exits.

I see a bit of a difference in your boat already; looks like your exhaust ports are out the side of the hull. Mine are out the stern. Do you have mufflers?

Stern exhaust is pretty common on aft cabins. A lot of the 3807s had the exhaust run from the engine compartment to the stern built right into the hull sides, no exhaust hoses going aft. AC also discharges into this channel, and because it exits so close to the water line, you don't get the noise of a stream of water when the AC is running. I love that feature but boy is she loud when the engines are running with no mufflers.

Had a perfect day for my first lesson on the Carver, Monday! Going out again today, weather permitting. Slept aboard for first time last night. Nothing like total immersion to learn how the environmental systems work. The dogs and I are all doing ok so far!
