Potable Water Hose

This has always been a pita to say the least. In my case the hose is permanently connected to city water which gets detached from the boat and left at the dock when out cruising. I always shut the valve off when leaving the boat for the week other wise it is always on when we are at the boat or even away for a few hours running errands. that being said these cheap "RV/Marine" hoses tend to swell to the point of looking like they will explode. So I searched to find the best alternative.

I should mention it is highly recommended to install a pressure regulator at your spigot on the pedestal as many marinas do not have one. Came across an American company by the name of Eley. The hose is definitely much better quality than anything out there in a "Drinking water Safe" type. Not sure I want to use this as my travel hose as it may not be pliable enough for my taste. I have 2, 25' 5/8" Zero-G hoses for travel which I can screw together for those long connections if required. Works very well. https://www.lowes.ca/product/garden-hos ... e3EALw_wcB

I've heard of Eley hoses before and have been keeping an eye on Amazon.ca but they're never available, the listing is there but out of stock. I haven't contacted them directly but their site still says they don't ship internationally including Canada. Too bad they don't have a Canadian distributor.

Yes the Zero-G is drinking water safe. I prefer the black one available at Lowes since it is 5/8" ID as opposed to the more common blue one at Walmart and most everywhere else which is 1/2". Oddly enough the 25' length is hard to find where as 50', 75', & 100' are common place.

I have a 50' Zero g ....nice so far and it doesn't seem to mark up the gel like the other brands that we have had...

How far is your boat connection from the dock hose fitting ? Could you plumb it closer with pex then just use a short bit to get into the boat fitting ?

I thought about that however I would need to take it apart come winter as they allow nothing on the docks. Other issue is it may be treated as a trip hazard although a hose is even worse but normal on a dock. Need about 28' to reach my hose bib from the boat connection.
