bud37 wrote:Qr Bbpost Here is an alternate idea.....I would cut both ends off and immediately throw the ends away, roll up the cable and hang in garage till you find some new ends. Install the ends and use the cord for a maintenance cord when the boat is hauled/stored, that would keep your good sealed cords from yard damage.
Really , it is almost impossible to get a proper seal when you put ends on, rendering the cords unsafe for dock use in my opinion.
Not a bad idea at all.
Actually, again I am not an electrician, I would think if anyone needs 70' to 75', they can bypass the replacing heads, and fuse both ends (bad end of 25' and bad end of 50') and have one long cable. but got to make sure the fused part is protected well in case it gets wet. Some kind of rubber material for permanent sealing?
Thank you all for the advice and information. I am not using it. I just hate to throw it away if anyone have a use for it, that's why I put it up here, but was not sure it would be worthwhile for anyone. I will keep it another week or so, if no one has use for it, I will dispose of it.
