Hey folks,
I'm looking to change my Portholes (9) on my 1985 3607 Carver. I'm working really hard to bring her back to tip top shape. She is running like new but now needs some "cosmetic" work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
greg

Hi Greg I have a 1984 3227 and wish I was at home to give you the exact info I had for our era of port holes. I replaced all the retainer bolts and nuts this summer from I think bomar. Really close to exact replacement.
And fresh air bilge vents were really hard to find but believe it or not got genuine on eBay.
Sorry I am not home for 6 weeks to give you better info...because I keep a very good file on this stuff...
We also found a supplier for so close to the original carpet or fabric Carver and Bayliner wrapped everything in. It’s very very close, I have an issue with things having to match and this works!,,,! Lol very well.

Here is a response to an email I had sent to Pompanette. This is from 2003, so don't expect the prices to be matched. These are for the smaller size portholes, which on my '83 3607 were all them. The later 3607's had some larger ones and some smaller ones, so I'm not sure which ones you're looking for.

Thank you both. I contacted Pompanette and they offer a replacement but my concern is getting the measuremnet exactly because there is a 20% return policy. I'm got the outer diameter but without taking one out, I don't know how to get the inner diameter.
Thanks again for the suggest and help.

There are only a couple sizes. If you still have the originals in there, that "715" number above is going to be the smaller ones you have. I'm not sure of the number on the larger ones.

My 1989 3607 has the portals with the multiple clamps. The old bakelite knobs were cracking and falling apart so I took them to my art department at my university and precisely measured the old knobs then 3d printed a new set. Worked perfectly. Portals have never leaked though indeed the acrylic (?) window panes are rather cloudy. Tried to resurface them with auto lens restoring product. Sort of worked but not perfectly. But the knobs are perfect! Nylon and indestructible.
