Wiring Voyager cams to MFD

Post by golgi »

Have any Voyager owners taken the original Voyager-brand engine room and cockpit cameras and wired into the Furuno NavNet VX2? A few questions... Are the existing cameras only black and white or is it just the old CRT monitor? Is adding the video card to the VX2 straightforward? Can you add two cards to one MFD? Mine is a 2001 530. Thanks!

I'm in the process of changing my cameras to a wifi color camera and viewing them on my Garmin 8600 series MFD's. I do believe that our Voyager cameras are only black and white. I would fear that they are fairly low resolution and may not display well on a newer MFD. This is just opinion tho. Good luck, Dave.

Thanks, Dave. I guess the output on the VX2 is lo-res also so shouldn't be a problem, but yeah I want color. I guess I'll try it with the existing cameras and upgrade later if it works. Thanks!
