Hi everyone,
Hope all are staying safe and healthy. We are transporting our boat from MN to CA. and realized our bimini (top portion only) is in need of replacement. Carver no longer has the pattern. We have the material and our current top. I realize a custom fit is best but have spoken to a marine canvas maker in CA. who can pattern it with our top. He says having the pattern is key. Anyone have this pattern or original dimensions? or a recommendation for a custom shop in Marina Del Rey?
Thanks in advance,
GM

Welcome aboard!
Seriously, have it custom made for a nice tight clean looking fit.

Re: 1985 3207 Aft need Bimini pattern
Welcome aboard GM. Wow that's different, most canvas fabricators prefer to come out and measure rather than going by an old covering as they typically shrink over time. A pattern is only as good as it was for the original design/fit. If something has been changed over the years by a previous owner, the original pattern becomes useless.
If you'd rather be safe than sorry, I recommend sourcing someone that will custom fabricate a bimini from scratch based on their own patterning at the boat.
Good luck with the transport and I'm sure the crew here would love to see some pics once she's home in CA.

Thank you! I do agree with you a custom fit is best. I have an email into one in Long Beach. I will def post pics once she's comfy in her new slip. Going from fresh water to salt is certain to age this beauty. We are excited she will be in water all year round vs. 5-6 months.

On that note, are your engines closed cooling? That's a must for salt water use. That's a whole other thread though but something to consider if that's not the case in your 3207.

Oh I don't know about that, I'm pretty sure we all refer to our vessels as a she or her, so it seems there's a lot more gals than guys here!
