Hi
Not yet purchased the boat, doing my due diligence, I have vied the vessel and would love to own it, its running, but has a lot of superficial dings and dents and corrosions as you would expect, Can any of you advice me where i can get after market parts primarily things like switches, sink taps, handles, wooden trims and so on, Mechanical it is sound, esthetically, it looks tiered, I want to bring it back to being a Lady again if i purchase.
Thanks

Re: Carver 28 Mariner 1988/89
Welcome aboard!
Very little is actually made by the production boat manufacturers. They design the hull, the layout, make the boat itself, and assemble everything, but most items are purchased from others.
Most items have some sort of id on them. In some cases Carver can help if you provide the HIN.
Places you can find all sorts of things would be Defender, West Marine (expensive), Great Lakes Skipper (started out as an overstock liquidator), and local shops. There may be a marine salvage yard near you, or a liquidator of overstock items bought from builders.
Good Luck!

Welcome aboard.
Like Fred said, few parts are proprietary. There are quite a few places in Florida besides the regular name retailers like West Marine. Try Marine Connection Liquidators in Fort Pierce, you can spend hours in there.... http://www.themarineconnection.com/. There are other salvage places throughout the state too. I've been to a couple in Daytona, much smaller but really good prices. I don't remember their names but it was just an internet search when I was down for a visit. And of course there's internet retailers; Amazon, eBay, etc.
Give us a shout out here if you're looking for something in particular, everyone's always will to offer up suggestions.
Good luck and I hope you end up with the one that's right for you. Keep us posted.
