Honda 2200 Recall

I know a heck of a lot of boaters use these so figured I would post this here for all to see. Seems they do not like salt water. https://www.consumerreports.org/recalls ... enerators/

Update: Honda has recalled 345,000 inverter generators because they pose a burn hazard to consumers. Honda portable generator models EB2200i, EU2200i, EU2200i Companion, and EU2200i Camo can short-circuit around salt water, causing them to smoke and potentially catch fire, according to a notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. A number of these same generators were recalled last year for gasoline leaks, as we first reported below on March 22, 2019.

The salt water environment is tough on many things. Fortunately my Honda Eu2000i has never seen a saltwater environment. Still purrs like a kitten.

I am guessing that they changed the design of the Honda inverters when they built the 2200.My EU2000i is 12 years old and well maintained.
