I've had 3 different Carver boats scanned with a spectrophotometer, looking to match metal work paint. The 3 boats were
95', 96' 370's, and a 98' 405. Radar arches, hard top supports, Engine make up Air Vents, ect.
All three have come up with the same Paint Code over a period of 4 years: Mazda PT or VX.
The PPG equivalent is: 4927
I may even try some roller and tip with the project that I'm working on now. BUT, an automotive paint supply or really good auto parts store will mix you up a spray bomb can, if you'd like to try it. About $20-25, will get You a single stage Acrylic Urethane in a pretty well preforming aerosol can.
I also know that this paint color was used on a heck of a lot more boats and earlier and later years, then the ones mentioned. I just don't know all. Maybe some one else does. IIRC, Carver called it "Antique White"??
You can also buy some Self-Etching primer spray bomb on the same trip, if your down to bare metal. Plus as a bonus, you can usually get all the paint advice that you need, at the same place. That's a win.

Re: Carver Paint Codes
The 95' 370 had the Dark Grey window frames, that were sunbeat pretty bad. The plastic, 3 screw window drain covers were in pretty tough shape also. However the aluminium frame paint had No corrosion, just sunbeat fade. I used mequires 105 compound, by hand and they came out wonderful looking. I sanded the plastic drain covers and cleaned them with acetone, then painted them with the paint pictured below. PERFECT MATCH. 2 seasons still looked good, I do not know long term because I sold the boat.Sailor Jerry wrote:QR_BBPOST Did you happen to scan the grey trim around the windows?

Re: Carver Paint Codes
I have some of the paint peeling off my aft window trim. I may try sanding down to the metal and spraying with your paint. Thanks for sending the picture.
