Should exhaust hose be the reinforced type or soft wall on my 220 Crusader?

Re: Proud new owner of 1983 Riviera saying hello
I have always used wire reinforced hose, good quality that has a good temp rating. Non of it is cheap at all but considering it is the exhaust, longevity and safety in this application are very important.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: Proud new owner of 1983 Riviera saying hello
Ya most guys use the wire wound exhaust hose, it's been tried and true for decades, but some use the silicone product as well. I've used it also and anyone that has replaced wire wound exhaust hose knows how difficult it is to work with. The silicone type is way easier to work with for sure. Which ever type you go with, make sure it's good quality MARINE wet exhaust hose.
