Potable Water Pump Continuously Running

Yeah the current pump is a SHURFLO 39010216 - 12V, 7.5A 55 PSI, 5 AMP Max and 3 GPM - ignition protected- Replacement is 4138-111-E65 for around $200 best I can find on Amazon.

Back up at the boat and found a small drip at the intake for the pump at the FPT connector. Will swap that out and hopefully it will correct the cycling of the pump continuously

Changed a couple fittings as there was evidence of a small leak, but did not fix the issue. Ended up replacing the pump and that was the issue. Original pump so it was 20+ years old.

If you're curious, take the old pump apart. You'll probably find some "gunk" on the valves and you can clean them and put it together and it'll probably work fine again... and you can keep it as a spare.

Thanks for the advice KM1125. Looks like I will have a decent spare. Opened the pump up and there was a piece of plastic stuck in it. Based on how/where the pump was mounted it was impossible to work on so remove and replace was the best option.

I'm glad to hear you got it fixed. Even if you didn't though, I think it's pretty fun finding out what actually happened that caused something to stop working.

You might find a lot of other uses for it too... like a portable wash-down pump or a boat sprinkler to get the little kids wet!!
