MarinAire AC Unit Swap

Never did post a pic of the MarinAire unit swap. Out with the old, in with the new. Took me about 4hrs to do with lots of thought and prep work prior. Original Marine Air was noisy, inefficient and just not as cold as the newer units out there, MarinAire took care of all those issues.

Good to know replacement of the unit is not a terrible task! What was the BTU rating on the old unit?

Old was 16,000 same as new however it feels like I have a 20,000 and it sounds like I have a only air blowing.

I always tend to over think stuff which is not a bad thing. Used the rear drain port of the new unit to allow water to run easily when a slope occurs with throttle application. Also leaned the unit slightly rearward so water runs out on its own as opposed to stagnating in the pan when at dock. Elevated the entire unit a good 4 1/2" to allow for easier access and hose connection slope. Had to reduce the existing duct by adding a reverse reducer to the new unit fron 6 to 7". In the end though, the outcome is much better than what Carver installed with unfortunately not too much thought behind it.

Is that on a slide-out pan, or is there more cabinetry that covers it up in the position it's in?

Fixed pan, there’s a notch in back of the sofa.
