On my electrical panel there is a white switch on the bottom
It is just labeled ON/OFF, It does not seem to do anything.
On shore power it does nothing.
On GenSeyt power it does nothinh.
I am thinking it is supposed to and it is defective,
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ned

Have a quick look behind and see if there are any wires on it and if so do they look original.
Sorry kind of simplistic but that is all I got till someone with the same boat chimes in.

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: 1982 3607 aft cabin
A picture would help, but I would bet anything it's not something that was put on by Carver.
There are three separate panels there. The top would be for D.C. and the bottom two would normally for for two A.C. inputs. The middle one is for most of the 'normal' A.C. stuff and the bottom one would be for HVAC stuff. My bottom panel was blank because my boat did not come from the factory with HVAC.
Is this switch in the bottom of the D.C. section or the very bottom of the panel here the HVAC would be?
Definitely check behind as bud says and see where the wiring goes and what type it is. That will be some clues. It may be fed from a particular circuit breaker that might also give you a clue (like a windlass breaker).

I just closed on a 1985 3607 - I don't remember seeing a white switch in the electrical panel. I will take a look this weekend and post what I find here.

I checked my panel, nothing like what you described. I will try and upload a pic of my panel so you can compare.
