Painting wood in the bilge
I have to add a new wooden platform to mount a battery in my engine compartment. I would appreciate some recommendations on what kind of paint to use. I may also paint the existing platforms while I am at it.
Thanks

Re: Painting wood in the bilge
I would encase it in resin and cloth. Before being installed
Thanks

Re: Painting wood in the bilge
Fraser, another idea is to buy custom cut checker board at a metal shop and screw it down. I did it on my Silverton an plan on doing it again. Looks like a factory install.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but what about using Star Board material. Won't rot, & easy to work with....

Re: Painting wood in the bilge
Never too late for a tip Jnick. I was able to get around adding the wood after all.
Cheers

I'm always late to the party...
You wouldn't happen to have some photos of your battery set up, would you? Or anybody's really. I don't really care for they way my set up is mounted and I'm thinking about redoing it while the motors are out.
