Bad AC water pump. Any info?

Hi All. Question about Air Conditioning pump. I have a 1992 Carver 28 aft cabin and my AC isn't working. Have been told the fresh water pump pictured here is an old model and is dangerous as they catch fire. Does anyone have knowledge about this pump? Is it dangerous? Can it be repaired? What's a good replacement option? Thanks.

I have had a cal pump in another boat, never heard of them catching on fire. They are the quietest pumps I know of. Forget repair, buy a new one. Not sure what GPH you have. http://www.calpumpshop.com/CalMarine-MS ... p-116.html

What does or doesn't it do? Have you taken the pump side apart to check the impeller to see if it's all gummed up with something?

Is that discharge pipe busted?

I'm not sure if the discharge is broken or just unscrewed. Either way I think there is enough to still connect.

You're going to need a 500 GPH pump at minimum.
