Season Is Coming To An End
Got notice from the marina it is officially closed as of Sept 27th end of day. However power and water are still available until Oct 13th. This weekend may be the last we enjoy the boat in terms of boating with temps around 26c and feel like 30. A last gasp from mother nature before it starts to get wintery. Going to have to start thinking winterizing and storage. Odd year with covid as our usual frequent trips to the US were not possible. Did use the boat quite a bit though. Hopefully next year we will not need to worry about covid but honestly I think this is not going to happen until late 2021 or early 2022

Gotcha. Hopefully a more festive year to come. Going to start to change the oils and fuel filters this week-end. Coming out the week of the 5th. All in all, it's been a wonderful boating season. Got to use our vessel a lot more than the previous year.

Yep. tough time of year. We did have a lot of good boating weather this year, and low gas prices. Lot of cruising. Only down side was transient slip availabilities. Different Covid policies at each destination made it messy. Although we will be dealing with COVID for a few years at least, I think the marinas will get much closer to normal next season. At least hours of operation, facility use, and staff should be better next May/June. I pull on Oct 12.

It was a hard and extraordinary year for all of us, I think, but everything ends. Anyway, this week is a time to service my boat and say good bye to it until 2021. I hope next year will be better than this one.

I put my jetski away for the winter last Friday. Had a really fun season with that. Put 38.3 hours on the ski and about 15 or so on the boat. Much cheaper to run the jetski.

Try a Kayak, even cheaper in fuel.
All in all we had a pretty good summer. Not as active as usual however did put on plenty of time. Most cruising done at hull speed however a few runs on plane for a few hours each time to get to destination. Fuels cost this season was around $1000 in diesel so not bad at all. Heck I think we spent more on wine than fuel.
Going to the boat with my wife for a last weekend, will pack everything we normally take home on the way back. Just need to go back once more to do the oil/filter changes and then pilot the boat to where we haul a few hrs down river. Once hauled and indoors, I need to again go back and winterize everything that needs pink and remove the canvas for a good cleaning and waterproofing.

Re: Season Is Coming To An End
Got all my mechanical fluids and filters changed on Saturday. Spent Sunday on the water. Today we loaded up the car with most items we normally take home. after a 3 hr cruise and 1 lock we arrived at the marina where we store the boat in unheated indoor storage. Rather shocked by the fact there are only 3 boats in the water at the marina that has a capacity of almost 400. Will be hauling out tomorrow around noon and then its time to do the pink stuff thing before leaving her for winter hibernation.

Lonely is good now and then, my wife and I, a good bottle of wine or 2. Ribs and potatoes on the grill and a beautiful quiet sunny evening. Going to launch a couple of those Chinese lanterns tonight after dark since there is zero wind.
Normally this marina is pretty full but I guess with the second covid wave people hauled early this year.
