3467 Santego Hydraulic Steering

Post by paddwheel »

Hello Captains,
Need some help. I have the original Hynautic H-50 helm with RV-55 Reservoir on my 1989 Santego. Does anybody have the exact Sea Star replacement information? I have spent quite a bit rebuilding the Reservior and rudder cylinder and now the helm is grinding. I want to replace the entire system without too many alterations and get away from the “Reservior” system.
Thanks, Greg

This would require a full replacement, but it's not a difficult job. You will need measurements for your helm pump to be sure there is room behind the panel if you want it to look original - but you could go with surface mount if you have the clearance. And the correct steering piston setup for your drive system with connecting hoses. You MAY be able to use the same hose with some connectors, but a cleaner install would include replacing the hoses with new. Running the hoses may the the most challenging of the job. My advice would be to get your info together and call SeaStar customer assistance to discuss options.
