Hi all,
Whatever fastens the swim ladder seems to be missing and I am using a bungie cord to hold the ladder closed. What was the original part that is missing? What is the best fix for this?
Thanks,
Barry

A picture of your setup would help Barry as there are a few different ways that was done depending on the make and model. Some had a mechanical metal latch, others had straps, and some had a rubber stay....

Barry, my 3867 has a hook and eye to hold it in the stowed position.

This is the ladder at the first haul out a year ago when we bought the boat and the current view in our slip. There are 3 sections that telescope out and then it rotates down. It opens when cruising if it is not secured.
Thanks,
Barry

Not absolutely sure from the pic, but looks like that is not the right ladder for under the platform to me.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

In most cases Carver swim ladders SUCK!
The ladder on my 355 looks pretty close to the ladder on your Santego.
The factory strap is a woven canvas type strap with the same snaps your canvas Bimini has.
I would look to some hook and loop Velcro type strap and permanently attach one end to the ladder.

I'll agree with that!! That was one of the first things I replaced on my boat.tomschauer wrote:QR_BBPOST In most cases Carver swim ladders SUCK!
