Re: Project: About Time
For as big as those boats are in the water, it's amazing how they can collapse down compactly for shipping!!
My first big boat was a repo too. Having ZERO knowledge about what happened to the boat prior forces you to go through everything and not make assumptions based on what a PO told you or wrote in some notes. You can get a great deal and put the rest of the money into NEW equipment that goes into the boat, so you end up with a great watercraft even though it's a lot of work and frustration in the process.
Good luck during the transport!! Hope to see pics of it floating soon!!

Re: Project: About Time
The boat arrived today, at the exact time I was told. It’s all unloaded and ready for me to start put back together. Just need to wait till it’s a little warmer than 18 degrees. I also want to highly recommend Lockview Marina and Transport from Cayuga, NY. They worked within my schedule, even helping me through the breakdown process over the phone while they were on vacation. They were on time or early and very knowledgeable on boat transportation. And the price I paid was exactly what I was quoted , which was 30% less then my next lowest quote.

Re: Project: About Time
Not much fun working on the boat when its so cold outside. A few years ago I was on the hard near an electrical outlet. I could plug into the outlet and power the boat. I have two electric heaters on board in addition to my reverse cycle A/C-heat. I could that year do what I had to do inside warm and toasty.
Where I am on the hard this winter I am no where near an outlet and my Honda generator cannot handle the load from my electrical unit(s). I probably won't get to do much until we get into the 50's.

Re: Project: About Time
V12 - Next Wednesday you should be getting some nice weather, highs in the 50's, maybe even teasing 60's late in the week. Then back to normal temps after that, and of course cooler by the lake. I am starting serious buffing this weekend as well as cutting up some Infinity Teak design carpeting for the swim platform, cockpit, and bridge. Found a killer deal on the flooring!
Bought 32 feet of tan with charcoal stripe, and 37 feet of grey with charcoal stripe. Not sure which I am going to use. Probably tan cause it matches up with the stairs much better.

Re: Project: About Time
Yeah I have lots to do, I do have power to the boat and 2 space heaters inside. So I am going to get a checklist of everything I have to do. And then start on what I already have a lot of stuff for (new bilge pumps and switch’s, new LED lights for the interior, redoing the front stateroom interior, all the new filters for the engine/fuel system). Along with draining and flushing the fuel tanks. I’m going to try to hit it hard next week, while the weathers nice.

Re: Project: About Time
Had to wait till it warmed up some, it was just to cold this weekend. After work today I got the uprights and fly bridge surround on,the helm and upper deck seats in. I also got about 75 percent of the wiring for the helm done, unfortunately I ran out of light. Hard top and arch should be going on tomorrow.
