Re: Transom Swim Step Bracket Issue

Hi All,

Agreed that the davit install was not well done. I took a rusty bolt out of the davit bracket and it had very little 4200 surrounding it. I'll rebed all of them tomorrow AM.

I took a dremel to the cracks seen in the photos. Took them all down about 1/8" - 3/16". Pasted some Marine Tex over those cavities and hopefully it can eliminate any potential issues with leaks.

As for the O-Rings. Is that a part that should be included wit the access cover kits? Does it fit around the cap itself and allow the cap to fit snug to the upper plate?

Thanks again for all your help!!

More Soon, Greg

O-rings should be on the caps. I'd leave them open for awhile to let platform dry out. If that storage box is bolted down you may want to re-bed it to be sure it's sealed too.

on my 405 the ladder screws were screwed into the glassed in backing plate. I was able to remove mine and like I stated earlier install another ladder and modified bracket using the same threaded holes and new screws. I believe you will find they will and maybe not easily be able to be removed if you fancy a new ladder later. Like you said maybe not with a dewalt screw gun but like Tim the tool man " more power"
