530 Voyager Davit Questions

Postby golgi » May 6th, 2020, 8:16 pm

Hi all, I have a 2001 530 with a Besenzoni hydraulic davit lift. Two questions... Do you know the max weight that the crane can safely lift? Second, what is the max weight that can be safely stored on the cockpit roof?

Sorry, I'm away from my manuals and I can't find the info online.

Thanks!

Do you remember the model number of the lift as there are various ones.
The above is strictly my opinion.

I am looking at purchasing a carver 2001 carver 530 . I talked to carver and they told my max for flybridge they recommend is 600lbs but they said the crane will probably pick up 800 lbs , depending what crane you have . The one im looking at also has a bad ac compressor . I saw previous post about compressor , how much and how big of a pain was it to replace ? This ones salon ac is out . I can not find anyone to get a rough est on how much to fix it , since its not my boat yet and have no access to it .

The salon unti is the larger unit of the four. A replacement unit is around 2,500 dollars from Airmarine

Most of those bigger Voyagers have remote compressors. If the unit is original, it will be an R-22 unit. You will need to replace both the evaporator unit that is in the salon and the remote condensing unit that is in the equipment room. If I am correct, it will be a fairly expense repair.
