1981 3607 Aft Cabin Thru Hull Access

Post by LaReve »

My 1981 3607 is going to need new thru hulls soon. On the stbd side (midship) there are 2 overboard that I need to replace. From what I can see, the stbd fuel tank is preventing me from accessing the thru hull from the inside. Does anyone know a way that one can change these out or access the inside of the thru hulls?

I had a 3607 but never did get around to replacing those. Thought about it and it would be a pain. If you have a generator it would be even harder, as access to the front part of that engine compartment would be really tight. You can actually reach them ahead of the starboard fuel tank but it's definitely going to be a two-person job.

There are actually three on the starboard side. The two I believe you're referring to are for the bilge pumps. The higher one is for the galley sink drain and the forward shower sump.

I should correct that last post... there's actually four on the starboard side. There is one back farther than the other three and it is for the aft shower sump. That one is approximately lined up with the fuel fill or vent locations and would be slightly easier to get to from the inside just behind the starboard fuel tank.
