Electrical problem with refrigerator, lights , radio
We have a carver 444. We have a 50 am plugged in with splitter. When plugged in at dock there is no electricity going to refrigerator, cockpit radio, and some lights. When we took the boat out the bow thruster wouldn’t turn on. Assuming there is an electrical issue. Any idea how to trouble shoot? We did try turning generator on to see if that would work but it didn’t. Thanks!

Plugging in to shore power will not turn on any of those items except the fridge assuming it is dual voltage. Fridge, lights and radio are 12v. Sounds more like the house bank selector switch is off or some 12v breakers are off.

Is the charger on and charging? Could be a number of things but I'd start with checking charger output and testing all your batteries, and check battery connections to ensure they're clean and tight.

Welcome to the forum.... One question though, did this just happen and was ok before ?Annie429 wrote:QR_BBPOST We have a carver 444. We have a 50 am plugged in with splitter. FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

This is the first time it has happened. We tested the batteries and replaced two of them and this seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you all for your help.

Good to know you found the problem, however…Annie429 wrote:This is the first time it has happened. We tested the batteries and replaced two of them and this seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you all for your help.
Even if the batteries were toast, you should be able to run anything 12v with the battery charger turned on. Maybe check that out as well.

I agree about the charger, check it out ....perhaps that killed off the batteries then died, hence your problem. Won't hurt to go thru everything carefully.
