97' 355 Courtesy Light
Hi all,
I'm looking to replace a hooded courtesy light which is mounted on the side of the stairs going to the bridge. The housing is cracked and I'm just looking to replace it, and I'm struggling mightily. Does anyone have a reference of part number or link to help me chase one down?
Thanks in advance!!
John

Re: 97' 355 Courtesy Light
I replaced both of mine about three years ago. I've searched my emails for a receipt, but am striking out.
If I recall correctly I removed one of them and took the part number off the back of it and googled it. That led me to some better lights that are chrome, but the exact same profile. I'll keep searching and see what I can come up with.

Re: 97' 355 Courtesy Light
I'd love to see pictures and measurements. On my 1992 they were replaced with smaller ones so I see the imprint and holes of the originals. I can close and polish but I find the current ones ugly and they give very little light where it's needed.

Problem is there are so many out there and probably discontinued. Good news is if they were popular someone probably made a copy and sells them. Here is a google search which may help. https://www.google.com/search?q=marine+ ... 31&bih=676

Try this. It’s what I purchased, and it fit the profile of the old one perfectly. I bought the chrome one.

I'll have to dig one out and take a pic, I found led replacements by the same manufacture, how ever the wiring placement was different causing some modifications.

Re: 97' 355 Courtesy Light
info on the led replacements is welcome too
I like the ones with a little 'dome' over the top so you can't look into the light directly. This way it is useful, if you can look into a lamp, esp. led, it makes it more difficult to see the surroundings.
Given time I might mod some into a red and white led variant so I can have them red when you want to see the surroundings of the boat and not break a leg when moving around outside. And white when you want a well lit cockpit at port for example.
